Vice President Biden Quoted As Advising His Family To Avoid Confined Spaces.

Vice President Biden went on NBC's "The Today Show" and shared with the American public the advice he would give to his family about the Swine Flu concern:
...saying "I would tell members of my family, and I have, I wouldn't go anywhere in confined places now. It's not that you're going to Mexico, it's you're in a confined aircraft. When one person sneezes it goes all the way through the aircraft. That's me.
President Obama had this to say about the disease and ways to keep you and your family safe:
He said they should take the same steps to avoid swine flu that one would take to prevent any other flu: keep hands washed, cover your mouth when you cough, stay home from work if you're sick, and keep sick children home from school.
If the Executive Branch of the United States has to play "mommy and daddy" with the public, telling us to wash our hands, cover the mouth when coughing or sneezing, and set parameters for quarantining sick individuals from the general public, then we Americans are too stupid to do anything on our own.  We need "Big Government"  to keep us safe.  And people (namely Republicans) bemoan "Big Government."  If Americans were capable of having "Small Government," we would have it.

However, I would imagine that tackling the major issues of the economy, finance, global trade and the environment are too elusive for a nation that needs to have its citizens be reminded to wash their hands of sneeze into a tissue.

First things first, America.

You and I both know that after the President made this announcement swarms of people uttered to themselves something to the effect of: "oh, man, so that's what I do with this newfangled soap contraption doo-hickey!"  Lastly, if you get sick with something called "swine flu," what does that tell you about the hygiene habits of the infected people and those coming in contact with him/her?  But, as Shakespeare famously quipped: "what's in a name?"
