Slowly But Surely, I Am Improving This Economy.

Last week, I posted an article stating that I am responsible for the state of the economy thanks in large part to buying products in bulk that would last for a long time.  Furthermore, I took accountability for this and promised that, come Monday, i would get this nation's economy back on track.  Well, according to CNN, by the end of Monday, the Dow rose 212 points.  While that may not seem to be a huge number, keep in mind that it is still an increase.  And any increase is better than a decrease, though market fluctuations measured in points have no impact on the hiring or firing of workers, despite what the blow-hard pundits think.

Bear in mind that I promised to improve the economy through increased consumer spending, and I even talked about the circular floe of money, a topic baffling to most talk radio or TV hosts.  So it would appear that I am true to my word and that my strategy is helping this nation get back on its feet, if you pay attention to the stock ticker.

Today, I planned to go to a few other national chain merchants, but exhaustion got the better of me.  Plus the weather has been overcast and rainy in the Northeast, causing my body to prefer nap time over support of merchants.  But I did frequent local eateries, so I did pump money into the economy; but not as much as I had originally planned.  Consequently, the Dow Industrials fell 16 points today.  Not a huge number at all, but still a decrease.

I must do better.  I will do better.  The past two days alone should show the American public the power of the consumer's dollar.  And that's just mine!  Imagine what would happen if Americans as a whole participated in this practice of consumer spending!  Why, this economy would rebound much sooner, causing investors to pump money into company stock based on the strength of consumer confidence in business.  Talk radio and TV blow-hards would stop corrupting the definitions of socialism and communism because of this rebound, allowing them to focus on the more important things in society, such as making a mountain out of a mole hill regarding some trivial, unheard of event in some jerkwater town in this nation.  Or they'll attempt to define political terms such as "liberal, conservative, socialist" et cetera without any real understanding of the terms at all.

Wednesday, I shall hit the market again, spending only my discretionary income while also setting aside a fair percentage of my pay for savings.  Hey, after all, banks loan out my money to the average American for loans to be paid back with interest, that's how the banks earn their money.  My purchase of the Seattle Mariners will have to wait at least another lifetime -unless I come by a massive windfall at some point- or unless somebody else purchases them.

So, rejoice, America!  I am getting us out of this recession, but I would need your help to so this.  Go out and buy items from your local merchants.  Recycle items that can be recycled, picks up after yourself.  Inflate those tires to the proper air pressure to save gas, and start drinking more citrus products.  Or else this country will resemble The Grapes of Wrath
