The Political Point of the Day

Today's selection comes from Franklin D. Roosevelt.  FDR gave many great speeches throughout his life.  Most that are remembered today deal with the New Deal or World War II.  Rightfully so, he gave hope and inspiration to a struggling nation.  But FDR was also a staunch environmentalist:
A nation that destroys it soils destroys itself.  Forests are the lungs of our land, purifying the air and giving fresh strength to our people.
FDR's words need to be heeded now more than ever.  The damage we are doing to our country and world is not sustainable.  The technology and methods exist today to start reversing human's negative impact on our environment.  We need to have the will to actually start, in a full hearted and serious way.
