Republican Arkansas State Senator Calls New York Senator "That Jew"

When you have ambitions of running for higher political office calling someone "that Jew" is probably not a smart thing to do.  Unless you are in Arkansas I guess.  Republican Arkansas State Senator Kim Hendren, running for US Senate in 2010, was asked to clarify his remarks regarding his comment about NY Senator Chuck Schumer.  Needless to say, it did not go over that well. :
"At the meeting I was attempting to explain that unlike Sen. Schumer, I believe in traditional values, like we used to see on The Andy Griffith Show. I made the mistake of referring to Sen. Schumer as ‘that Jew’ and I should not have put it that way as this took away from what I was trying to say," Hendren said.
The Andy Griffin Show...does he mean like when women and black people knew their place?  This guy is a clown.  Apparently his idea of traditional values involves spewing bigoted comments around in public settings.  I'll give you one guess what his stance on gay marriage is.

It is worth saying again, this guy is a Republican.  A Republican from the South.  They really are losing their minds.  It has become quite clear that instead of taking a long look at themselves in the mirror and assessing why only 2 out of 10 people identify themselves as Republicans, they are trying to "purify" the party.  Their answer is to become even more conservative, I would even call their stance reactionary.  The silver lining to all of this hate speech the GOP is throwing around is that it will ensure they do not have the reigns of power again for a long, long time.
