Act Like A U.S. Senator And A Third-Grader At The Same Time.

The Presidential Election of 2008 caused many Republican officeholders to lose their jobs; just like the terrible economy has caused hundreds of thousands of Americans to lose theirs.  So, as a way of attempting to get back in the good graces of the American voter, the current Republican representatives have decided to start rebuilding from the ground up, begin to come up with legislation to benefit the nation, and reach across the aisle to work in bipartisan efforts to help the country rebound.

That's what you would expect.  However, the Republicans have decided it much more useful to act like incorrigible third-graders, insulting the other political party by referring to some members in less-than-flattering references to religion or claiming the beating of homosexuals as a hoax, and stalling efforts to give financial bailouts to the average American while literally throwing money by the billion to American businesses who got us into this mess in the first place.  And, we have nearly 18 months left of this before the next election!  Hooray!  More than enough time to get thousands of Americans firmly into the a voting bloc other than the Republican Camp.

Yes, that sounds like the Party of Lincoln, alright.   By the way, how do you think Lincoln would feel now, knowing that the antebellum south was almost exclusively Democrat in his time, now, they are die-hard Republican?  Do you think that if he knew this would take place he would be furious about his assassination?  I could see him saying something like: "in six score years form this age, the southern states will align themselves with the political identity of us Northern abolitionists.  So, just go back on stage and quit shirking your responsibilities, Johnnie."

Well, maybe not.  But the the point remains that Republicans need to stop acting like eight-year-olds and act like Senators; a professional title only 100 Americans can claim.  I know that name-calling is as old as politics, and as recent as Bob Dole calling Vietnam a "democrat war" to the lesser-known examples.

But, a very well-known right-wing tantrum has permeated the airwaves.  Take a look here to see where you stand on the issue.

And for those Republicans who insist on small government, well, you have less than 18 months to prove that you've earned another two years leading this nation, or else we will do it without your services.
