Tax And Spend? A Good Idea?

Some would disagree.  In fact, some people would go through great lengths to show their dislike and animosity towards government spending.  Political candidates have espoused taxes as a necessary evil, some have decried taxes outright, and others have accepted them -we are well aware of Ben Franklin's quip about taxes.  However, taxes are here to stay as long as this planet will have a human population and government.  Money raised in the form of taxes is a guaranteed source of income for the state to use -hopefully- for the benefit of the governed.  I apologize for the recital of information you already know, but it appears that the Teabaggers fail to grasp that they benefit from taxes and government spending.  After all, who picks up municipal trash and recyclables (if offered), funds and employs workers for America's infrastructure, and pays the wages of military personnel?

We do!  The nation's citizen's pay for all of this and more.  Apparently the Teabaggers think all the trucks rolling by with the county seal on them in the act of doing these tasks are pure coincidence.  It is amazing to think that people hear the words "taxes" and "government" and immediately blame the Democrats.  Last time I voted, I saw several parties represented.  A one-party system is most likely a totalitarian government, and we are far from that - or so one would think.  Republicans would never even think of taxing the citizens of this fine country.

It is interesting to note the ring-leader of the Teabaggers (an insightful bit of irony, as the term has a totally different connotation) is Rick Santelli denounced the Obama Administration's Stimulus Package which allowed hundreds of dollars per American in an effort to help boost the struggling economy.  Who wouldn't turn down free money?

Apparently, the Teabaggers will affix the blame at the current President and howl in misplaced protest because they feel "those damned Democrats" ruined this nation, but are whisper-quiet when the last gasp of the then-Republican held Congress voted to pass over $7 trillion in bailouts to struggling American companies.  But, this was in the mould of Ronald Reagan and his "trickle-down" theory of the economy.  Laissez-faire has a new meaning in conservative circles, I take it.

However, Woodrow Wilson is credited with forming the basic belief system of fiscal conservatism.  However, he promoted and followed a system of progressive politics during his term as Governor of New Jersey and as the President of the United States.  Here is a quote from the man himself:

"A conservative is someone who makes no changes and consults his grandmother when in doubt.
"
Woodrow Wilson
Quote found here.

I wonder what the Teabaggers would say once they found out he was a Democrat (although, a Democrat in that era would more likely align more closely with Republicans of the 1950s; Democrats were party of Tradition.  Not the perception we have of them today).

What look would they wear on their face?  Because, as the name of the movement implies, we can already imagine what's on it.

The TeaBaggers were a joke from the beginning and became a national joke after FOXNEWS gave wall to wall coverage of....tens of wackaloons 'protesting' because they got marching orders from ....FOXNEWS. The turnout was pathetic, the people were pathetic and we didn't hear from Them ever again. My favorite news clip came from Baltimore where about 5 people tossed a bunch of shit into The Harbor. Real smart-lets pollute the harbor even more! Such forward thinking people. Yeah,The Future of The Party. Go Home.

It seems you are mislead yet again. The tea party in Indianapolis alone had over 5,000 people attend. Now that we have many candidates ready to take office in November (we keep winning primaries), we will take DC back and keep liberal scum like you out of power. You have ruined this country enough. It's time to begin repairing the damage. America will become America again! You had your chance to shine, and you all failed.
